Core system

Flexigas CSST gas pipe.

CSST means corrugated stainless steel tubing. Flexigas is a flexible fixed gas pipework system made with current production 316L stainless steel tubing and Flexigas fittings. It is BSI Kitemarked KM 598726 to BS EN 15266:2007, rated MOP 0.5 bar and available from DN15 to DN50.

CSST pipe explained

What is CSST gas pipe?

CSST is corrugated stainless steel tubing for fixed gas pipework. The corrugations make the tube flexible enough to route around many obstacles, while the system still needs design-led sizing, support, protection, bonding, tightness testing and Gas Safe competence. Flexigas is not a loose appliance hose and should not be selected by pipe size alone.

Certified system

Flexigas is BSI Kitemarked KM 598726 and certified to BS EN 15266:2007 for stainless steel pliable corrugated tubing kits for gas.

Fixed gas pipework

Flexigas CSST is fixed gas pipework, not a flexible appliance connector. Use it with the current Flexigas installation guidance.

Sized before selection

Check connected load, route length, equivalent fittings, gas type and pressure drop before choosing DN15-DN50.

Used as a system

Use Flexigas tubing and Flexigas fittings together. Do not mix Flexigas with other manufacturers' CSST systems.

Why installers choose it

Less joining. More doing.

Flexigas can route around joists, through ceilings and across awkward routes that rigid copper often has to be jointed around. On suitable runs, fewer intermediate joints means fewer joints to assemble, inspect and test.

Compared with soldered copper routes, Flexigas can reduce hot-work steps where the installation design allows. The corrugated tube self-flares against the brass fitting for a dry, metal-to-metal seal; use the current installation guide for the full cutting, fitting, bonding and testing sequence.
